If you are anything like me, you are a mixture of annoyed and wary by the unprovoked social media messages asking if you would like to buy Rodan + Fields face cream and wash from someone that you haven’t seen since elementary school and wouldn’t recognize in public if you tried.

I tried the products for 60 days, stay tuned to see what I think.

There are four product lines, and after checking out each one, I tried the Redefine Regimen for 30 days. Why Redefine? Because my kids are aging me by light years!  I have used no other skin care products during the last 60 days and refrained from wearing makeup.

R + F Basics

What I found interesting about the company – founded in 2002 by Dr. Katie Rodan and Dr. Kathy Fields, the ladies behind Proactiv. In 2003, Rodan + Fields was purchased by Estee Lauder and products were placed in department stores. In 2007, Dr. Rodan and Dr. Fields bought back the company and switched  to a consultant sales business model in which they rely primarily on the Independent Consultants to share/sell the product via social media and the “Before and After” selfie, like the one below. CNBC reported in December 2017 that there were 200,000 consultants and hit 1 billion dollars in sales in 2016.

180$ for the 4 items is a lot – and if you do not postpone your delivery it will charge your card and auto ship. However, the face wash/mask should last 2 months, the toner will likely last you 5 months, and the moisturizer will also last 2 months based on feedback from Emily.  I am a firm believer that price doesn’t always equate to quality and have to believe that there is a quality product out there that doesn’t cost me an arm and a leg.

The only complaint I have about product is that my skin burned on week 2-ish after I used toner which was bizarre and I clearly wasn’t a fan of.

Will I purchase again?

I liked the ritual and routine of wash, tone, moisturize 2x a day. I do think my skin tone looks more even than before.  My face does feel very soft, but unfortunately I don’t look 21 again (UGH, what a letdown JK!) All in all, its a quick routine that even a busy mom can handle which was nice.  I am going to keep hunting for a price point that works with more natural ingredients.

If you are interested in purchasing Rodan and Fields and need a consultant, Emily is a great resource.  Her website is!

    1. You sound like me! I am a natural skeptic, ha! It did make me realize how having a routine and using a face wash is important. I also did a lot of research and even the dermatology brands say the best thing you can do is wear SPF!

    2. No problem! I had been wondering same as well, glad you enjoyed! Let me know what you end up using!

  1. I had been wondering if Rodan Fields was worth the price tag. I prefer Drunk Elephant because it has natural ingredients which is what you said you wanted. It’s expensive though, but the Ordinary has a lot of dupes.

    1. I have tried the Ordinary too! Drunk Elephant is new to me, I need to check that one out! Thanks for the recommendation!

  2. Thanks for such an honest review, very helpful to know. Sounds like a good skincare routine. Strange about the toner burning! Glad you saw some good results though. Will have to try this product!
