SHHHHHHHH! Do not tell anyone, it’s our secret. Delicious and simple black bean brownies will fool any guest. They are to die for tasty and leave your guests begging for the recipe!  I’ve made these a million times and nobody has ever guessed they were made with black beans!

  • ¾ cup of dark chocolate chips
  • 1 can of black beans, 15 ounces, rinsed

  • Sprinkling of course salt
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract

  • Oven preheated to 350 degrees.  I used a 8 x 8 baking pan and used olive oil cooking spray to grease.
  • Mix black beans, coconut oil, sugar, and honey together (I used my Cuisinart Food Processor). Blend until the beans are smooth, 2 minutes or so.

  • Add the cocoa powder, salt, baking powder, and vanilla extract. Again, blend until smooth.
  • Add eggs and blend.
  • Add half of your chocolate chips and mix by hand.
  • Add the cocoa powder, salt, baking powder, and vanilla extract.
  • Pour mixture into the baking pan and then sprinkle the remaining chips on top.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes. Check with toothpick and take out when comes out clean.

I LOVE taking fat free vanilla yogurt and putting in the freezer for 30-40 minutes so that it becomes icy/ice cream like. Add this to your brownie in a bowl and it is the perfect “Brownie and Ice Cream” knock off that was WAY healthier and guilt free of a sweet tooth treat. Have fun fooling your crew with this treat!

      1. I’m going to start in abut three hours. Based on the ingredients, I’m pretty sure I’m going to love them. If all gies well, do I have your permission to share your recipe on my Capable Fitness with Gail Facebook page? Every day at 2:00 pm I publish a recipe that I have tried. You would get complete credit. Let me know. I cue these thing up in advance, so your recipe would be published on Monday April 3rd.

  1. Okay. They are GREAT!!! Love them. I’m taking the rest to a birthday party later today. Children will be present. I’m not going to say a word.

  3. These sound amazing! I’ve made zucchini brownies before, but they still have flour. I love that the beans replace the flour! This would be a perfect treat for my kiddos!

  5. These look so good! Due to my restrictions…food choices really…I’m going to substitute in flax eggs and coconut sugar. Can’t wait to try these…like today! I’ll let you know how the substitutions turn out!

  6. I am looking for an easy black bean recipe that I could do this weekend. Thanks for sharing this!

  7. Thanks for sharing this recipe! I’m going to have to send it to my mom and mother-in-law since they’re both such good bakers to have her try it out!
