There is a Hero in all of us – Marvel and Kroger!

By

Who likes grocery shopping with their children?  Anyone? I hear silence. Right – it’s a recipe for disaster. My kids start off solid then by aisle 3 we’ve opened every snack possible, they’ve grabbed random items from shelves we don’t even like, they are fighting, and I’m wondering how we will make it out alive. We’ve all been there… but I am here to tell you Kroger has an awesome collaboration with Marvel Micorpopz Going on in RVA at the Staples Mill Road location that will make your trip easier and a little more fun!

Palmer and I checked it out and it was really cool! All superhero fans young and old will enjoy using their smart phones to scan and collect the characters while shopping!

Download the free Kroger Micropopz app. You will see an image like the one above pop up!  You can Scan the image from the cut outs around the store and see the superheroes come alive, take pictures with them, and also view your Micropopz and look at facts about each superhero you collect!

This is what your app will look like! Click on Scan and hover over the icon on the cut out at the grocery store!

As you are shopping around the store look on the cardboard cut outs highlighting Marvel characters and check on floor for signs like these.  See the SCAN THIS ICON image at the top? That is where you hold your app to make the hero come to life! For example, the hammer brings Thor to the welcome area of the store!

Scan the image on your phone to see the character come to life! You can capture pictures of the characters and even hop in the picture with it which Palmer really enjoyed.

I love how Kroger and Micropopz have the tag line – There is a hero in all of us.

Turn the event into a great conversation piece with your kids: what would you do to make the world a better place, what would your superhero name be, what hidden superhero power do you have, what can we do today to help another person?

No matter your age, we all enjoy helping others. What a better way to show your kids that even a small act like picking up a piece of trash you find at park does make a difference. Sitting with a new classmate at lunch to help them feel welcome. Going to check on a neighbor who had surgery. The opportunities are endless and create a chain reaction of everyday heroes in our neighborhoods, schools, and communities! Join me and my very own “Captain Palmer” who wants to pick up trash and help other kids whose families who may not be as fortunate as his everyday superpower.

For the next 8 weeks, if you spend 30$ on your trip you will earn a FREE Micropopz character during check out which is an awesome reward for good behavior (not that we bribe our kids as parents – who would dare do that – JK it’s the way I survive life these days)!

You can purchase a case to collect your Micropopz in! If you have a Marvel fanatic or superhero lover in your home or life, this will definitely get them excited! The Micropopz are small, so if you have little siblings or pets this would be a great option to store them in when you aren’t playing.

Love the use of augmented reality to entertain the kids. Even better is the carrot at the end at checkout.
