Mom Style: Yoga Pants and Comfy T-Shirt?

By

Ohhhh how style changes when you become a mother!  I will confess that prior to having my first baby, I owned 45 Lilly Pulitzer dresses.  I wore them everywhere.  But, suddenly those short slim fitting dresses didn’t seem as appropriate when I was spending my days as a mama cow breastfeeding and crawling all over the floor.  I traded in my heels for flats and tennis shoes, and wear my yoga pants and black solid leggings daily.  I frequently have hand prints, sticky fingers, or stains on tops or pants from someone grabbing me as I run out of the door.  Doesn’t faze me a bit these days.

While my closet looks a bit different and my attire for public outings has changed pretty dramatically, I wouldn’t change it for the world. I have adapted my style these days to be more of a comfy mom vibe.  I do not tend to spend a lot on items and I think about whether I can wear something in multiple settings before it gets to come home with me.  If I can wear it just at work, ehhh. If I can wear it at home or at work – bingo.  More bang for my buck.

Black solid leggings are a mom’s best friend in general. They are easy to throw on with a t shirt, a sweater, under a dress. Can dress them up or down.  I tend to gravitate to black solid leggings because they are so versatile.  I don’t tend to do a lot of clothes shopping in store anymore either. Hard to try items on when kids are yelling, commenting “Mom, your wearing your blue underwear today? I see your bottom! Mom your bottom jiggles when you move!” so online shopping is my go to solution.

I stumbled across Simple Addiction on social media and loved their prices and quality of the clothes. They have great sales, fast response, and free shipping over 35$.  One thing that I think all busy moms will appreciate is – their outfits in a box.  They put together the outfit, including accessory for you! Just pick your size and it’s already styled and ready.  Here is an example of one that I love from their site right now:

Or this top: Adult-ish for 3.97.  I’ll take 7 of these and wear daily for the rest of my 30’s.I try to pretend I am an adult, but let’s be real. Bills, life, ugh. I hate adult-ing.

My go to Simple Addiction pieces are the black solid leggings and the black sweater (IT HAS POCKETS!!!!!!!)– because I can wear them to work and when I am around RVA with my boys. Best part – they are super affordable.  If you head on over to the website they are often on sale for 7.95 right now.  The black solid leggings hold up well in the washer and dryer and are soft as butter! The sweater, 25$ is lightweight and great for over tops or dresses.  Anddddd for you pregnant mamas like me, they are great for a growing belly!!

For the price, the quality is impressive. I’m totally partial to the black sweater. Dress it up for work, dress it down for fun! It’s a keeper !
