When snow hits Richmond you can be sure to see everyone around you panic. People will run, and I mean run, to the grocery store for milk and bread. While those are key items to have on hand I opt for ensuring we have wine, champagne, and lots of yummy foods!
I’ve never been a fan of snow. I don’t really enjoy playing in it and I detest driving in it but seeing my almost 3 year old run outside and the pure bliss on his face melted that dislike today. It’s safe to say I am now a big ol fan of snow angels, sledding, and snowmen. There is something so peaceful about the slow pace, everyone being at home with family, and giggles of kids throughout the neighborhood that warmed my momma heart today!
I just checked my Fit Bit (if you don’t have one of these you are missing out!) and I have 17,000 steps from playing in the snow with my toddler today and working out. So I combined my need for post work out recovery shake and tradition of making snow cream with my mom when I was growing up.
The result ….. deliciousness.
- Gallon of snow
- 2 cups of sugar
- 1 tbsp of vanilla extract
- 2 cups of almond milk
- 2 scoops of post work out recovery shake mix Advocare, I chose chocolate!
Stir it up and ENJOY! Stay safe y’all!
What are your snow day traditions?
