Commitment

Are you ready for a change? Are you committed to improving your health, fitness, or wellness?  My husband and I definitely were.  We were tired, frustrated, and stuck in a rut.  But change is scary and we tend to stick to what is familiar… even  when familiar isn’t working anymore. We all do it – jobs, health, finances, relationships.

Deciding to take on a new lifestyle or revamp your health and wellness is a HUGE commitment.  It is one that no one else can make for you and you have to be 100% ready.  I read this morning that 73% of people who set New Year’s resolutions about fitness give up.  73%? WOW, that’s more than I expected.  Did you set fitness goals this year – if so, are you in the 73%?  What led to you letting those go?

Commitment is defined as the state or quality of being dedicated to a cause, activity, etc.    I find that I am much more committed to something when I have someone checking in with me about how it is going or better yet doing it with me.  Because we all have days when we don’t want to go to the gym, work out, or get out of bed.  But, if you have a friend or loved one pushing you and reminding you of the commitment you made you will be much more likely to stick with it. For me, I have two little guys watching my every move.  They don’t know it yet but they hold me accountable much more than anyone else.  I refuse to let them down.

So, to kick off this blog I would like to show you all that my commitment to being healthy, happy, and fit is at 150%.  I am starting a push up challenge – today is day 1.  Push ups are great because you can do them anywhere and they require no equipment.  So, find a spot and chime in with how many you can do now and what your goal is for 30 days from now.

Who is with me?  I took a video to show you how many I can do.  My goal is 25 by day 30.  I would love to cheer you on and help you get to your goal.
